It was with great disappointment that the Portland LIVESTRONG block party had to be canceled for 2010, but that didn't stop the team in yellow from raising funds for the LAF -this year, the team will be doing an Ebay Auction, starting May 24th. 100% of all the proceeds raised will be donated Lance Armstrong Foundation, and the team will once again be sending more cancer survivors to the Seattle LIVESTRONG Challenge event.

Max Papis, GEICO's driver, has heard about the Rubicon-ORBEA; Benefiting LIVESTONG cycling team and has donated autograph gloves and shoes for the team to auction off and raise fund to send cancer survivors to the Seattle LIVESTRONG challenge.

Widely regarded as one of the most versatile racecar drivers in the world, ‘Mad' Max Papis is the driver of the #13 GEICO Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Papis was born in Como , Italy , and now resides in Mooresville , North Carolina. He has made over 100 open wheel race starts, including two prior Indianapolis 500 starts, while also serving as a test driver for NASCAR's Hendricks Motorsports. Papis has also participated in NASCAR's number two Series, where he recorded a third place finish on August 4, 2007 in Montreal .

Aside from recording three wins in the former CART Series, Papis has been one of the top competitors in American sports-car racing. He posted an overall win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2000 and 2002, as well as a Grand-American Rolex Sports Car Series championship in 2004. As a member of GM's Corvette Racing team, Papis has recorded two wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans, as well as two runner-up finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans .

The Max Papis connection. In this day and age, if you can not say you have been touched by cancer in some way, then you are in a minority. Sister, brother, mother, father, friend, or you, cancer knows no limit, no one is safe, for Max, cancer took his father in 2006.

Papis, displays the LIVESTRONG logo on his helmet in multiple areas, helping to bring about awareness to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Papis, whose father died in 2006 of pancreatic cancer, has great passion for finding a cure for the dreaded disease and committed bringing the attention to the public and need for a cure.
