Meet Andy Williams -the first of possibly 3 new riders to arrive Portland, Oregon June 1.
It was with great disappointment that the Portland LIVESTRONG block party had to be canceled for 2010, but that didn't stop the team in yellow from raising funds for the LAF -this year, the team will be doing an Ebay Auction, starting May 24th. 100% of all the proceeds raised will be donated Lance Armstrong Foundation, and the team will once again be sending more cancer survivors to the Seattle LIVESTRONG Challenge event.
That night, the Rubicon-ORBEA manager asked Quinn Keogh, Rubicon-ORBEA rider, how did the day go for him being on the other side of LIVESTRONG this year? And what it meant for him, to participate in the hospital visit and Patio Party, being that last year at this time, Quinn, was fighting his own battle against testicular cancer here's what he had to say-
After leaving Silver City, New Mexico, the team drove all night, 900 plus miles, arriving at their destination -Little Rock, Arkansas. With a quick meeting and circling of the wagons at ORBEA-USA on Monday, the guys made it to their host houses and settled in for the night. Tuesday was going to be a big day on and off the bike.
Wow -first and foremost, thank you for the recognition!

First off was the Shimano's kits race -they had over 300 tough little competitors! David and I looked at the start and we knew we where under prepared . . . calling for help, the Shimano pit-crew came to our rescue and helped us hand out LIVESTRONG wristbands to every competitor. If you have never seen a kids race, where 300 kids are coming at you, it's like herding cats trying to get everyone a LIVESTRONG wristband -the kids love their wristbands, it's like winning a gold medal only yellow.
Total Dollars donated Lance Armstrong Foundation: $71,000
Wristbands sold: 2200
